WASSCE RESULT IS OUT: HOW TO CHECK THE 2020 WASSCE RESULTS 

Results of the 2020 Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination(SSCE) has been released. Find out the requirements and how to check the 2020 WASSCE Results below 

Recall that the West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (WASSCE) which was supposed to be written around May/June 2000, was postponed due to the disruption to the initial schedule brought about by the breakout of the Covid 19 Pandemic. The West African Examination Council (WAEC) finally slated a new date and rescheduled a new Examination time table for the Exam after series of meetings and consultations between the government and the regulatory body responsible for the examination. 

The West African Examination Council (WAEC) which is the body responsible for the coordination of the West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (WASSCE) which started on Monday, August 17, 2000 and ended on Saturday, September 12, 2020, have on Monday, November 2, 2020, released the Results of the 2020 Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination(SSCE). 

The results are being uploaded on the results websites and candidates who sat for the examination and also fulfilled their financial obligations to the council can access their performance on the website. The certificates of candidates whose results have been fully processed and released will be ready within the next 90 days with effect from Monday, November 2, 2020.

To check the results online, what is required are: The Candidate’s Results Checker PIN and Serial Number which are contained on the candidate’s Smart Identity Card used during the conduct of the examination. 

HOW TO CHECK THE 2020 WASSCE RESULTS 

To check the results, all the candidates need to do is follow the simple steps outlined below:

1. Go to https://www.waecdirect.org. which is the WAEC result checking portal.

2. Enter your WAEC Examination Number in the required column.

3. Select your Examination Year

4. Select your Examination Type which is “school candidate result”.

5. Then enter the Card Serial Number.

6. Enter the Card PIN afterwards.

7. Finally, click on the “Submit” button to get your 2020 WAEC Result.

From the available statistics, reports records and results released by WAEC, 1,003,668 candidates out of the 1,538,445 students that sat for the 2020 WASSCE examinations, obtained at least a credit pass in a minimum of 5 subjects that includes English and Mathematics. This represents about 65.24% of the total candidates that sat for the examinations.
