MARITIME ACADEMY OF NIGERIA POST UTME REQUIREMENTS 2021/2022

The online application Portal which opened on the 12th October, 2020 for the sale of Post UTME Form 2020/2021 academic session has been closed. However, due to the COVID-19, all cadets who were admitted are to continue with their online lectures until 1st week of February 2021 pending physical resumption.

Upon physical resumption, second semester examination kicks off for the 2020/2021 academic session. There’s no scheduled date yet for the sale of Application form for the 2021/2022 academic session but prospective cadets must take note of the Admission requirements stated below 

MARITIME ACADEMY OF NIGERIA JAMB CUT OFF MARK & ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS 2021/2022

The First and basic among other Maritime Academy of Nigeria Post UTME requirements 2021/2022 are stated below:

  1. Candidates applying to School Nautical Science must have a minimum Jamb score of 175
  2. Candidates applying to School of Marine Engineering must have a minimum Jamb score of 175
  3. Candidates applying to Electrical/Electronic Engineering must have a minimum Jamb cut-off mark of 175
  4. Candidates applying to School of Maritime Studies must have a minimum Jamb score of 160

Also, Candidates seeking admission into any programme of the Maritime Academy of Nigeria must have a functional email address and Mobile phone number. They must also meet the basic program admission requirements they are applying for before they’ll be eligible to be considered for admission.

A. ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR NATIONAL DIPLOMA PROGRAM (ND)

The Admission process into Maritime Academy of Nigeria for the two (2) years National Diploma program is through the Joint Admissions And Matriculation Board (JAMB)/Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) only. Candidates must in addition to passing the Medical Examination and Physical Fitness Test, pass the Screening Exercise/Aptitude Test conducted by the Management/Regulatory Authority.

Also, they must meet the basic entry requirements for the program they have chosen to study. Below are the entry requirements for the various programs offered in Maritime Academy of Nigeria at the National Diploma level 

Entry Requirements

1. Nautical science: Candidates must have Five (5) credit passes at O/Level (WASSCE, GCE, NECO, NABTEB, etc) in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Geography and any other Science subject obtained in not more than two (2) sittings.

Also, the UTME/JAMB Subject Combination must include: English Language, Mathematics, Physics and Geography

2. Marine Engineering: Candidates must have Five (5) credit passes at O/Level (WASSCE, GCE, NECO, NABTEB, etc.) in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Technical Drawing or Any other related Science subject obtained in not more than two (2) sittings.

Also, the UTME/JAMB Subject Combination must include: English Language, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry

3. Electrical/Electronics: Candidates must have Five (5) credit passes at O/Level (WASSCE, GCE, NECO, NABTEB etc) in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Any other related Science subject obtained in not more than two (2) sittings.

Also, the UTME/JAMB Subject Combination must include: English Language, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.

4. Maritime Transport and Business Studies: Candidates must have Five (5) credit passes at O/Level (WASSCE, GCE, NECO, NABTEB etc) in English Language, Mathematics, Economics, Geography and any other subject from Commerce, Government, Principles of Account, Business Management etc obtained in not more than two (2) sittings.

Also, the UTME/JAMB Subject Combination must include: English Language, Mathematics, Economics and Geography

IMPORTANT NOTICE

Candidates under this category must not be more than 21 years of age at the time of admission, must be single and remain single throughout the duration of the program. 

B. ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR HIGHER NATIONAL DIPLOMA PROGRAM(HND)

In addition to passing the Medical Examination and Physical Fitness Test, the Admission process into Maritime Academy of Nigeria for the two (2) years Higher National Diploma program includes meeting the basic entry requirements for the program you have chosen to study. Below are the entry requirements for the various programs offered in Maritime Academy of Nigeria at the Higher National Diploma level 

Entry Requirements

i. Nautical Science: Candidates must possess a Senior Secondary School Certificate or its equivalent with at least Five Credit passes in subjects which must include Mathematics, English Language, Physics, Geography and any other related Science subjects obtained in not more than 

2. In addition to the above, candidates must also possess a National Diploma in Nautical Science with a Cumulative Grade Point Average of not less than 2.50 (Lower Credit) from the Maritime Academy of Nigeria or other accredited institution listed with the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB)

3. Candidates must also Possess a JAMB Registration number.

4. Candidates with a minimum of Lower Credit must have completed a minimum of one year post-ND Industrial Training with evidence or must have acquired a minimum of one year cognate work experience in a relevant organization.

5. Candidates with PASS at National Diploma level from Maritime Academy of Nigeria must have completed a minimum of two years Post-ND Industrial Training with evidence or must have acquired a minimum of two years cognate work experience in a relevant organisation.

ii.Marine Engineering: Candidates must possess a Senior Secondary School Certificate or its equivalent with at least Five Credit passes in subjects which must include Mathematics, English Language, Physics, Chemistry, Technical Drawing and/or any other related Science subjects obtained in not more than two sittings.

2. Candidates must also possess a National Diploma in Marine Engineering with a Cumulative Grade Point Average of not less than 2.50 (Lower Credit) from the Maritime Academy of Nigeria or other accredited institution listed with the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

3. In addition to the above, candidates must also possess a JAMB Registration number.

4. Candidates must have completed a minimum of one year post-ND Industrial Training with evidence or must have acquired a minimum of one year cognate work experience in a relevant organization.

5. Candidates with PASS at National Diploma level from Maritime Academy of Nigeria must have completed a minimum of two years Post-ND Industrial Training with evidence or must have acquired a minimum of two years cognate work experience in a relevant organisation.

iii.Maritime Transport and Business Management: Candidates must possess a Senior Secondary School Certificate or its equivalent with at least Five Credit passes in subjects which must include Mathematics, English Language, Economics, Geography and any of Commerce, Government, Financial Accounting and Business Management, obtained in not more than two sittings 

2. Candidates must possess a National Diploma in Maritime Transport and Business Studies with a Cumulative Grade Point Average of not less than 2.50 (Lower Credit) from the Maritime Academy of Nigeria or other accredited institution listed with the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

3. Additionally, candidates must possess a JAMB Registration number.

4. Also, candidates must have completed a minimum of one year post-ND Industrial Training with evidence or acquired a minimum of one year cognate work experience in a relevant organization.

5. Candidates with PASS at National Diploma level from Maritime Academy of Nigeria must have completed a minimum of two years post-ND Industrial Training with evidence or acquired a minimum of two years cognate work experience in a relevant organisation.

IMPORTANT NOTICE

Candidates under this category must not be more than 25 years of age at the time of admission, must be single and remain single throughout the duration of the program. 

HOW TO REGISTER 

Applicants are to follow the steps below for a successful registration, they’ll be required to pay a total sum of Two Thousand Three Hundred Naira (N2,300) only. Two Thousand Naira (N2,000) as Application Fee and Three Hundred Naira (N300) as Bank Charges 

Step 1: Make payment

  • Click on Make Payment
  • Then select the required Mode of Payment
  • Choose either Online Debit Card Paymentor Bank Counter Payment
  • Then Proceed to payment
  • If you choose the Bank Counter Payment follow the instructions below:
    • Print the Payment Slip or use the Transaction ID to pay at the bank(using Etranzact Platform). Make sure you confirm that your information is correct at the bank before payment. A confirmation Order will be given to you after payment.
    • The banks with which you can make this payment are: UBA, FCMB Bank, Heritage Bank, Jaiz Bank, Keystone Bank, Skye Bank, Stanbic IBTC Bank, Union Bank and Unity Bank
    • Then Select Verify Bank Payment, enter the Confirmation Order, if successful proceed to Print Online Receipt
  • If you choose the Online Debit Card Payment (Etranzact Platform) follow the instructions below 
    • Click on Pay, select the Bank and proceed
    • Put in all the necessary card details and amount then proceed 
    • If successful proceed to Print Online Receipt

Step 2: Update Personal Details 

Complete the Field with all Information Requested. Note: All fields with * are compulsory and must be completed. Failure to provide all necessary information may result in automatic disqualification.

Step 3: Educational Details 

Upload Primary and Secondary School Educational Details and all other fields requested, remember that all fields with * are compulsory and must be completed. Failure to provide all necessary information may result in automatic disqualification.

Step 4: O level Result

  • Select the Number of Sittings to update Olevel Results 
  • Complete the Field with all Information Requested
  • Afterwards Submit the Form

Step 5: Referees

Upload 2 Referees Details and all other information required where necessary as failure to do so may result in automatic disqualification.

Step 6: Medical Test

Candidates must undergo some medical tests at any Government Hospital and upload their medical status on the application portal. The list of medical tests can be found on the application portal dashboard.

Step 7: Medical Examination Form (Form M)

  • Download the Medical Examination Form (Form M) and Provide the Information Required
  • Complete the Field with all Information Requested. 

Step 8: Documents Upload

  • Scan and Upload all documents requested.
  • Each Document must be in a single PDF format (Eg documents with more than one pages must be converted to a single pdf file.

Step 9: Application Preview

This displays the summary of your application. Make sure your information are correct. Note Picture uploaded can not be changed.

Step 10: Print

  • Print the Application Slip
  • Print Payment Receipt
  • Print Invitation letter this will only be available after Initial Screening, Successful Candidates names will be Published)
  • Print Undertaking Letter (Successful Candidates only)
