Trading in crypto currency is now harder for Nigerians as the Central Bank of Nigeria on Friday ordered all financial institutions in the country to desist from dealing wit crypto currency.

CBN says until it regulates crypto trading, it is prohibited for institutions to deal in the digital currency.

This new order has created panic in the digital money market in Nigeria as people aren’t sure of what will happen to their investment.

For those thinking of how to convert their Bitcoin, Dogecoin and other digital currencies to cash, you’ll need to download some Apps in your phone or check online.

Here are some of the debit cards apps you can use with crypto currency:

1. Bitstamp

This is another virtual wallet option you can use as plastic prepaid debit card which you can fund with bitcoin. What you have to do is;

•Tap on “Wallet” at the bottom bar.

•Select choose a currency and select “Withdraw”.

•Put the amount you want to withdraw and your bank account number and tap “Next”.

•Check di information and confirm.

2. Shift Card

This Visa card will allow you connect to your Coinbase account to spend cryptocurrency online and offline.

3. CoinsBank

This crypto currency exchange offers four different cards, each of them have their different features and prices. The cards automatically convert Bitcoin into several different currencies, including US dollars and Great Britain pounds.

4. Xapo

This card will connect your Xapo account to one card which will allow you pay in stores or online or get cash.

You can log into your Xapo account on your mobile device (Android or iPhone) using Xapo app or a web browser on your computer.

•Open the Xapo app and Select your country of residence.

•Log into your account.

•Select the Account tab.

•Tap Withdraw at the top of your screen.

•Enter the BTC address. 

•Scan a QR code.

•Select the account you would like to send your bitcoins from. •Enter the amount you will like to send.

•Review your transaction details.

5. Wirex

This allows you to store your bitcoin in one digital wallet then use the card to spend it as dollars.

You can also send funds from your Wirex account to another Wirex user or to an external bank account.

•On di Dashboard, select the account from which you want to make a transfer.

•On the account panel in the middle, click Send.

•On the next screen select To myself, To anoda pesin, or To a business.

6. Uquid

This card is only for eligible users of Uquid account. It works with GBP, EUR, and USD.


This is a prepaid card with low commission fees. It comes with both plastic (physical) and a virtual version, so you can choose which one will work best for your current needs. Again, this card only works with GBP, USD and EUR.

8. Coinizy

This is a virtual Visa card you can only use with PayPal or to pay directly online. You will buy the card then use Bitcoins to load it

9. SpectroCoin

This is a prepaid card that let you cash in Bitcoins from any ATM worldwide. You can also use it like a debit card. You can use the  cards in USD, EUR, or GBP.

10. Bitpay

This Visa-brand card allows you load your bitcoins from your virtual wallet. You can then withdraw cash or use the card in retailer stores.

11. TenX

This is another virtual wallet that  allows you to spend Bitcoin in real life, as well.

12. SatoshiTango

This card allows you buy bitcoins then transfer them into one debit card.
