BRIEF HISTORY OF FEDERAL UNIVERSITY DUTSE (FUD)

The Federal University Dutse (FUD), is one of the nine Universities created by the Federal Government of Nigeria in 2011. It is a public Institution that offers both undergraduate and postgraduate programs (Pgde.Msc. and as well as PhD). 

The Federal University, Dutse (FUD) held its first convocation ceremony on January 16, 2016.

The Pioneer vice chancellor of the university Professor Jibirilla Dahiru Aminu (OFR), while delivering his speech at the convocation ceremony revealed that the university has scored over 80 percent marks from the assessment made by National Council of University on facilities and academic effectiveness.

The university’s campus is located in the ancient town of Dutse the capital of Jigawa State. FUD offers a broad range of degree programs in Humanities, Natural, Management and Social Sciences, Agricultural Science and also in Medicine. 

FUD is believed to have over 3,200 students currently enrolled into various programs in her institution which grew from the University’s pioneer crop of 205 students and a staff strength of over 1332 academic and non academic staff.

The current Vice Chancellor of Federal University, Dutse is Prof. Mrs. Fatima Mukhtar.

FEDERAL UNIVERSITY, DUTSE (FUD) CUT OFF MARK 2020/2021

Federal University, Dutse (FUD) in accordance with the provisions of JAMB has fixed her cut off mark for 2020/2021 academic session. The cut off Mark for 2020/2021 academic session as agreed upon by JAMB and the school’s management is 160, some programs however has cut off marks higher than this bench mark. This cut off mark alongside other eligibility criteria qualifies a candidate to sit for her Post UTME and Direct Entry (DE) online Screening exercise respectively and consequently if successful gain admission into any department of the institution.

FUD ADMISSION ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA & GENERAL ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

To be eligible to gain admission into any department in FUD the candidate must meet a number of compulsory requirements, these requirements are ;

  • The candidate must have a minimum UTME score of 160 and above 
  • The candidate must have sat for and acquired an O’ level result ( WAEC, NECO, GCE, NABTEB) and must have at least 5 credit passes with Mathematics and English Language inclusive.

N/B : A’s and B’s are most preferred and are considered first 

  • Combination of results in not more than two ( 2 ) sittings is allowed 
  • Candidates can apply with awaiting results. Awaiting results however won’t be accepted once admission is given .
  • FUD must  be your most preferred Institution.

MEANING OF CUT OFF MARK 

For the avoidance of confusion, a cut off mark is simply a selective criteria in form of a benchmark agreed upon by institutions and jamb which serves as a yardstick in selecting qualified candidates based on their performances to be eligible to sit for post Utme. A candidate to be qualified for any post Utme screening exercise and admission must not score below the cut off mark, if the cut off mark is 200, candidates mustn’t score below 200 to be eligible for post Utme and admission.

FUD DEPARTMENTAL CUT OFF MARKS 2020/2021

What is contained in this content is the departmental cut off marks from the previous academic session 2019/2020. Since the official departmental cut off mark for 2020/2021 academic session is yet to be released, this will give the candidates insight on what is to be expected. Federal University, Dutse ( FUD ) do not have a uniform cut off mark as cut off mark varies across departments. However, candidates who have scored 160 and above in their UTME examination are eligible to sit for the PTUME Screening exercise. Candidates should also know that some department has cut off marks higher than 160

FUD POST UTME/DE REGISTRATION PROCEDURE:

Candidates are required to;

  1. Visit the University’s Post UTME/DE Portal https://www.ptume.fud.edu.ng
  2. Login with UTME/DE Registration Number
  3. Update date of birth, email, phone numbers, State/LGA as it is on your UTME/DE Registration Slip
  4. Generate invoice and Remita Retrieval Reference Number (RRR) Number
  5. Use the RRR Number to pay N2,000 PUTME/DE Online Screening fee using any acceptable debit card or pay it at any Commercial Bank nationwide, including FUD Microfinance Bank.
  6. Verify payment using the verify button 
  7. Update WAEC/NECO/NABTEB results (not more than two sittings) as well as A level results where applicable
  8. Scan and update genuine and authentic copy of WAEC/NECO/NABTEB/A LEVEL results and recent passport photographs 
  9. Print acknowledgment Slip

FUD ADMISSION SCREENING EXERCISE 

  1. All UTME candidates should bring to the examination venue; 

a. Evidence of Remita Payment Receipt

b. Printed Acknowledgment Slip

c. JAMB UTME Notification of Results/Registration Slips

2. Candidates should note that participation in the Post UTME will be in Batches as indicated on individual Acknowledgement Slip which also contains Examination Venue, Date and Time. Candidates should comply to this instructions accordingly 

3. Candidates are NOT allowed to bring cell phones, IPads, Walkman, Wrist Watches, Sun glasses or any other electronic gadgets and extraneous materials into the examination hall

4. All DE candidates are expected to do online screening and therefore NOT expected to be on University campus for any examination or physical screening.

6. All candidates are advised to make sure that they have uploaded their O’level results on the Jamb website

7. Candidates are expected to adhere strictly to the specified date and time of the Post UTME exercise on their acknowledgement slips.
